Why I look forward to Mondays

It’s surprising how much I used to hate Mondays. I used to do this thing which Gary Vaynerchuck calls “ Living for the weekends”.

I used to anticipate the weekend where I wouldn't have to drag myself to work every morning. Regardless to say I had a terrible time at work, constantly watching the clock, dodging responsibilities, trying not to work every time I could, I was practically living off coffee from 9AM –6PM. I realized that this was no way to live my life. This was an insult to my potential and a waste of my time.

I thought about quitting, but it didnt make sense at the moment unless I had generated some sort of revenue stream. So I made art after work. I started making short films, I started doing some motion graphics, I started re imagining websites, I started doing photo manipulations. I also started posting some of my creations of Facebook. It caught somebody’s attention; that somebody required a logo. Then it caught somebody else’s attention, he was starting out a company and wanted a website. That’s how I got started.

I finally quit my job and went to town making cool stuff for cool people. It felt so fresh. One day I remember I was working on a Logo and went almost 4 hours without checking my watch. It felt incredible.

It’s been six months since I’ve left my job an I’ve been working independently. I’ve managed to build a team internationally. We work on creating brand identities and crafting animated explainer videos for products and brands globally

Mondays are a whole different ball game since I’ve started working independently. It’s like a fresh start to your week after an entire sunday of detoxing.
